Message '16 bit Windows Subsystem' during installation
Posted by Support Manager, Last modified by Gianluca Tedone on 09 July 2012 07:50 AM
During DCDS or DCDS2000 installation the following error is encountered:

16 bit Windows Subsystem: C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for funning MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application"

DCDS and DCDS 2000 are 16 bit applications, developed to be able to run
on old Windows systems like Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows Me.

The IRIS application no longer supports these operative systems
because it is a 32bit pure application.

Windows XP supports this "legacy" applications using an internal 16bit
environment (virtual machine). In this case the 16 bit applications are
able to run in a known envinronment.
